The Ultimate Vampire Resource and Directory

Considering kids hardly read books these days... well, yeah. Someone that's obviously never read something decent's gone "WOW! You HAVE to read THIS!" and the book gets passed around, and hailed as the next best thing - which unfortunately, happened.





It's even worse when people say it's the "New Harry Potter".

Please tell me that you are not basing your opinion on the movie - WHICH WAS TERRIBLE



Read the book! It is SOOOOOO much better

I think the major fuss was about how many people read the books that didn't usually read. It was easy to do, as the books were really easy reads. People that never read books were able to say, "I read the whole series" and were experiencing for the first time what it was like to see characters they read about before their eyes on a screen. And most of them were/are very young people.



It doesn't strike a chord for many adults because it is light reading and light viewing. Something that keeps being over-looked is that it was written for young people, not adults. And then there's the argument that 'so was Harry Potter' and it had so much more to it. Sometimes- you don't need all the 'lessons' and parallels to other things to make it entertaining.



For instance, I love Adam Sandler movies- yet he's not a good actor and some really chessey stuff goes on in his movies. I laugh at it anyway. I leave giggling. Twilight isn't a giggle movie- but it's not 'Attack of the Killer Tomatoes'.



I've never hated Twilight. I read the books and it satiated in me what I guess was a lame school girl fantasy. I would have rather had Bella's high school experience than my own- that's for sure ;)

I don't know what the fuss was about either. Its just another movie you see and you either like it or you don't... just like any other. I do happen to like Twilight though. :)

I didn't like it much. I switched it off before the end.
